Skunk-Off Pet Liquid Spray (32oz): Skunks, the local nuisance of suburban pet parents everywhere. If your pet runs into a skunk and makes it feel threatened, it can spray with a high degree of accuracy up to 10 feet. Skunk spray is a very volatile mixture. A canine who is sprayed by this normally docile animal can suffer the toxic effects for months. The strong, musky scent emitted by the skunk can cause great physical and emotional trauma for your pet. You've tried the at-home concoctions, another store-bought dog spray for smelly dogs, but the only one that you will ever need is Skunk-Off liquid spray. Made with the world's most powerful degreasers, our De-Skunk spray efficiently and effectively breaks down and dissolves the oils that carry the volatile sulfur compounds that are the source of the skunk's horrible scent. --- Harsh On Odor, Gentle On Pets: It's safe to use on your pet, but also on everything your skunked pet comes in contact with like carpets, walls, furniture, tub, collar, and leash. It also works great as a general dog deodorizing spray and to remove cat urine. Since skunks often strike at inopportune times, you should always keep a spray bottle (or two) at hand for emergencies! When that unmistakable odor does follow your dog into the house, spray promptly as you would with any other dog spray. I had the unfortunate experience of my dogs getting sprayed by a skunk at 5am. In the rain. After my initial panic and washing them several times with peroxide, baking soda, and Dawn, i could still smell the stink, especially on their heads. And lucky me, they jumped on my couch and made it stink. Skunk Off was amazing on the couch, chair, carpet, walls, and even the tub where I washed them. It leaves a strong but not unpleasant odor behind. It worked well for the dogs, too. We sprayed them, rubbed it in, and rinsed them off. Apparently, you can use it in your laundry, too, but I did not try that. It is worth every penny, and I would buy it again if needed!

The smell of this product is strong. Described as “citrus”, but maybe hints of that? It smells like the chemically-floral smell of gas station bathroom soap. This is something you’ll want to store in your garage or basement. However, even with all that intensity, it’s still 100 times better than the alternative.

Due to circumstances, my sprayed dog had to come inside and wiped his skunked face all over my carpet. Any place he went, the odor stuck to it. I tried a lot of other masking products but this is the only one that instantly worked. I needed to respray a week later for emerging smells.

This also worked semi well on the dog. Because he was sprayed on his face, I couldn’t really dowse the area. Instead I used an art paint brush to paint it on him. Waited 5 minutes. And then washed his face. It wasn’t a cure all but a good start.

I hope you never need this, but in case your pet encounters a skunk, it is good to have. My dog got sprayed by a skunk one night. One of my neighbors had the same experience a few months earlier. I ran over to ask if I could borrow their Skunk Off as they said it worked really well. It was winter so I unfortunately had to bring my dog through the house to the bath tub. I tossed her winter coat, but still needed to wash her thoroughly. I got her wet and sprayed the Skunk Off as directed. I think probably 85-90% of the smell was gone after the first bath. I did have to repeat treatment as I was cautious washing my dog's face, but that is where she got sprayed. Also, I believe some of the skunk oil was between her paws and nails, which were really hard to clean on a small dog. This stuff really works. I probably washed my dog 3 times (spot washing) and could barely notice any remaining odor. I bought a new bottle to return to my neighbors. Hopefully, neither of us will need it again, but it's good to know that help is nearby.
