Migrating a user off a workspace account

Hi All,

I'm trying to migrate off workspace (I've been using it for my family for years, and have now been pushed off by the google policy changes).  However the data migration services (old and new) don't appear to only work when the destination is a google workspace account.  And the "normal" gmail migration doesn't work anymore due to the OAuth changes.

Does anyone know how to (in January 2024) migrate from workspace to gmail personal?

If you're just talking about email, probably the simplest is to just set up Thunderbird to connect to both accounts via IMAP and drag the messages across.

You might also want to check out VaultMe.com, which a number of folks I know have used with good results.

Thanks Ian... I have 30GB of email so am hoping to find a server-side solution, but yes I suppose that would work, am nervous of how long it would take to download and upload the 30GB of mail required.
