Running a report or getting visibility of externally shared files

We would like to gain visibility on shared files, by whom they are being shared and to whom (internal or external).

How can you run a report to get this information?

Anyone accomplish this because I can't spot a method. Through the admin console or GAM.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I went through the GAM site and that group but initially couldn't find anything related to this requirement.

There are third-party tools that may be helpful.  In the past I have used GAT+ to find externally shared files.
