This position involves working in the Naval Systems Computing Center (NSCC) which is part of the Data Control/Media Library team at the Rotary Mission Systems Moorestown, NJ facility. This center is part of a test suite that is tied to the AEGIS Weapons System and provides critical capability for early program development and element testing prior to system level integration.

THE WORK

On a daily basis the Media Librarian will be responsible for :

• Creating and monitoring various types of classified (and unclassified) media, including but not limited to Computer Hard Drives, CDs, DVDs, Optical Disks, 9-track magnetic tapes, 4mm cassettes, and LTO tapes.
• Retrieving, allocating, and tracking media distributed to different users.
• Labeling classified hardware and printed materials according to DoD standards.
• Managing accountable materials using the Security Information Management System (SIMS) and Media Tracker inventory control software.
• Performing regular inventories of media.
• Engaging closely with Quality Assurance and Configuration Management staff, system users, and various operational work-center teams.
• Producing, revising, and preserving various reports and metrics in line with established inventory procedures.
• Preparing media for shipping, transferring, or destruction.
• Conducting courier duties as needed.
• Executing additional tasks as directed by management.
