Public Relations Specialist

This position requires attending events on various nights and weekends with Commissioners and other county officials. 

This is an in-person/on-site position.

Responsible for providing support to the Public Information and Marketing departments by performing various activities and tasks. Responsible for assisting with planning, implementing and monitoring the County's Social Media accounts. This position crafts engaging social media posts that encourage interaction to explain and support the Commissioner Board’s initiatives. Creating and editing engaging videos and presentations is a plus. 

Some of the duties include:

•     Provide assistance attending, organizing, executing and taking photos at a variety of events

•     Create and edit social media content, videos and presentations 

•     Graphic Arts/design experience: draft and design different types of PR materials (Flyers, brochures, posters, ads etc.) 

•     Suggest innovative ideas in brainstorming sessions

•     Edit and proofread media releases, posters, brochures and flyers, etc.

•     Monitor social media trends and suggest content

•     Keep social media calendar of posts and content

•     Perform a variety of different administrative/Communications tasks 

 Qualifications:

•     3+ years of experience managing business or government social media pages and growing audience

•     BA in public relations, communications, graphic design, video production, or similar relevant field

•     In-depth knowledge and experience with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

•     Excellent writing and editing skills

•     Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills

•     Outstanding organizational and time management skills

•     Graphic design skills

•     Ability to meet strict deadlines

•     Attention to details

 Salary Range (based on experience): This is not a remote position. 

$40,000 - $60,000
