You're swiping on Tinder, match with someone, then realize: you've made a mistake. Maybe you meant to left swipe, or maybe over the course of the conversation you realize this isn't the person for you. For whatever reason, you want to know how to unmatch with someone on Tinder. Here's how.

Step 1: Open the chat of the person you'd like to unmatch.

Step 2: Tap the blue shield icon at the top right corner of the chat.

Step 3: Select "Unmatch" in the dropdown menu.

From here, you can also report the user if they're acting inappropriately.

Step 4: Confirm you want to unmatch.

Tinder will ask if you're sure you want to unmatch. You can cancel if you did this in error, or go ahead and unmatch.
