For TSHA, creating this mix was, as the UK DJ/producer tells Apple Music, a “huge pleasure and privilege”. And that’s because of who the request came from: The British indie house label Defected Records. In 2024, the label turned 25, which proved the perfect opportunity to relaunch their celebrated In The House DJ series, a showcase of the best house music of the moment and the future. For TSHA, Defected Records are “such an iconic symbol of house music”, and this mix spotlights both what’s come before and what’s on TSHA’s radar now. “This mix for me was a chance to delve into the records that have helped pioneer dance music, but was also a platform for me to showcase some incredible newcomers whose music I wanted to celebrate,” she says. “I hope you have as much fun listening as I did creating!”
