Uninstall Google Credential Provider for Windows

You can remove Google Credential Provider for Windows (GCPW) from a device using the Microsoft Windows command line or Add/Remove Programs.

After you remove GCPW, the local Windows account created by GCPW remains on the device. The device is still managed by enhanced desktop security for Windows until it's unenrolled.

Before you begin: Make sure you have full administrator privileges on the device.

Uninstall GCPW using the command line

  1. Open a command prompt with full administrator permissions.
  2. Change the directory:  cd C:\Program Files\Google\Credential Provider
  3. View the directory, then locate the subdirectory named after the version number. It will look similar to this: 74.0.3432.34
  4. Change the directory using the version number. Example: cd “C:\Program Files\Google\Credential Provider\74.0.3432.34”
  5. At the prompt, specify: gcp_setup.exe /uninstall

Uninstall GCPW using Add/Remove Programs

  1. In the Windows Start menu, click Settings.
  2. Click Apps.
  3. Find Google Credential Provider for Windows and click it.
  4. Click Uninstall.
