Imagine a perfect boxed cake, but 20x better and you've got Umber's The Devil in Ganache. No other chocolate cake will ever compare. I hope to eat it on my birthday every year for the rest of my life.
Probably the best bakery. Kale & Caesar focaccia was insane (perfect salting and ridiculous custard crumb). I haven't even had the sweet pastries, and I'm still willing to say this is the best bakery.
One of the best bakeries in NYC. The must have is the delicious brownie. The dark chocolate explosioncookies are excellent, & although the chocolate chip cookie is not the best ever it is very good.
A cozy little bakery! Everyone’s super nice it’s like they’ve known you for years. Pastries are heavenly & worth every calorie👌🏻 Brioche donuts are a must, croissants and vanilla choux! Chailatte✨
I tried every flavor cookie and the chocolate explosion (crinkle cookie meets brownie) is the best. Chocolate chip cookie second. Most forgettable/skipable is the brown butter & bourbon.
Only served on weekends, the sticky buncinnamon roll is a must have. Perfectly balanced flavor with gooey cinnamon filling, it's a great way to start your day.
Spinach & zataar hand pie and old fashioned donut are amazing. Probably the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. Cakey, but not too dense with a yummy glaze.
Very cutebakery and the owner/chef, Umber Ahmad, is very personable. There's a common table at the back that is convenient for working on. The baked goods are diverse in selection and pretty good.
I had the Mah ze dahr bar. It was good but not amazing IMO. I am not a huge dark chocolate fan and they seem to be most famous for their ganache and other dark chocodesserts. super friendly tho
Their hot chocolate has just the right amount of richness- perfect for a frigid winter day. The signature brioche doughnut definitely lives up to its hype.
Amazing chocolate ganachecake. We brought a cake not knowing that there were 5 others at this bday party.. everyone only ate ours, so the host had 5 cakes leftover
Pro’s: draftCafe latte was nice and brioche doughnut was ok; Con’s: staff member spraying windex on glass near pastries rather than paper towel and old fashionedcakedoughnut was not worthy of $5
