- Tony XerriMay 20, 2013I had my first Africano here and was not disappointed. The only thing better than the coffee is the history throughout the entire cafe. Put a dollar in the jukebox and relax to your favorite oldies.
- Cash only, great coffee. There is wifi and you can get power sockets if you look. In the evenings, their wine spritzers are great value for money too

- Jeff BedrickMay 19, 2022Like walking into a living archaeological relic. The old regulars own this place but you can drop by for the best espresso or cappuccino in SF.
- Annie MargesonNovember 27, 2018Good coffee, good people, good atmosphere. Good place to become a regular at. They also serve Golden Boy Pizza here which is delicious.
- Jared RousselDecember 16, 2016Solid, but not the best coffee you can get in the neighborhood. It's more about the space & charm to me than the quality. Cash only & pricey.
- Ilker BasaranJanuary 1, 2022Definitely one of the old coffee houses in SF. Good quality of Espresso.
- Ruben Garcia MohedanoOctober 28, 2018It seems it is an establishment in North Beach and a place where Coppola wrote The Godfather. Come for a piece of history and to be transported back in time, coffee is ok but not the best
- This is an old school quincential San Francisco beat generation cafe the coffee is like in Europe smooth easy to drink yummy It is Not About the food
- Cash only. If it’s crowded, get your pastries and coffee for takeaway and people-watch in Washington Square Park.

- Alyssa WAugust 16, 2017A classic SF cafe - the perfect spot to catch up with an old friend over espresso.
- Lefteris AvramidisAugust 24, 2015If you are really sleepy, get the four-shot espresso called "espresso grande"
- Eunice KimJuly 23, 2015Coffee is super strong and not for the faint hearted, but it has a very tourist-y crowd.
- Orsolya LukácsJune 13, 2016Lovely Americano while chilling in the sunshine with all the hippies around!
- Contemporary Jewish MuseumJuly 6, 2013Open since 1956, Allen Ginsberg made this his home away from home.
- Mel DogJanuary 9, 2011My favorite home town spot. I always come in here in the mornings when I'm back home and order an Africano.
- David SchachFebruary 13, 2014Like any hipster coffee shop, with WiFi squatters and pontificating idiots, but an older crowd.
- Bosie MoncrieffMay 1, 2017Overrated. My latte was undrinkable. Burnt. Disgusting. Thew it out. I don't know what's been going on but AVOID. Reveille is much better. Caffe Greco too.
- Michael ChailleMay 31, 2010Another hole in the wall that's still around for a reason. Best coffee since getting here - sorry Char Bucks! Line is long, but moves. You'll be back.
