- Another place where we can get stuck is when we operate with heard mentality. It's like we're all playing a giant game of follow the leader. We do what everyone else is doing because, well, it feels safe and everyone else is doing it. Take starting a new job and everyone's throwing around acronyms, and you're just nodding along and not wanting to seem clueless so you don't ask what everything means. Or there's that classic move where we hire the same type of people because, hey, that's how it's always been. And we built this culture where questioning the routine is a bit like wearing a neon sign that says, "Look at me, I'm different." Have you ever just waited in line for no reason because everyone else was waiting too?
