- [Instructor] You can run Android Studio on windows, Mac, iOS, Linux, or even on Chrome OS. The system requirements for Android Studio are listed on the studio page on the developer website. On all platforms, you need a 64 bit development computer, on Windows, you'll need x86 64 bit CPU architecture. And that can be either an Intel or an AMD chip. And on Mac you'll need either an Intel computer or one of the newer M1 computers. On Linux, any 64 bit Linux distribution should work, as long as it supports one of the desktop environments that's listed on this page. Chrome OS has its own unique requirements. If you do want to run Android Studio on Chrome OS, I recommend a Chromebook that has at least an i5 processor. And even on that processor, it can be a little bit slow, i7 is a lot better. On Windows and Mac, again, i7 is great. And while eight gigabytes of RAM is listed here as the minimum, 16 gigabytes will make you a…
