The G major scale

The G major scale

- Remember that the major scale is made up of two tetrachords joined by a whole step. Here is the G major scale. There is one sharp, F sharp, in the G major scale. A piece based on the G major scale is written in the key of G major. Since F is sharp in the scale F will be sharp in the key as well. An F sharp is indicated in the key signature. Notice in the G major scale that you have two new notes in each staff. In the treble staff you have F which will be F sharp, and G. In the base staff you have A, and G. Let's play the G major scale with the right hand. And now with the left hand.
