In Standard Edition Google Apps accounts, ads are served in Gmail just like in regular Gmail accounts. These ads are often related to the email you are viewing. Sometimes, there are no good ads that are relevant to the email. From now on, you will sometimes see ads that are related to a recent email and not necessarily the email you are viewing.

Editions included:
Standard Edition

Languages included:
All languages supported by Gmail

How to access what's new:
This change is being rolled out automatically so there is no action to take.
Note: This change will also apply to Premier and Education edition ONLY if the domain administrator has enabled the serving of ads for that domain.

Default https access for all Gmail accounts is currently being rolled out. This will only affect Google Apps domains that have not already forced SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) connections for their users in the Google Apps Control Panel.

Editions included:
Standard, Premier, Education and Partner Editions

Languages included:
All languages supported by Gmail

How to access what's new:
This change is being rolled out automatically so there is no action to take.

- Premier and Education Editions only: Administrators can force SSL connections for all users in the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, go to 'Domain Settings', 'General', and then enable the checkbox for 'SSL' that will automatically force SSL connections when users access Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sites. When this option is enabled, users do not have an option to disable https in their individual Gmail Settings.

- If the 'SSL' checkbox is not enabled in the Control Panel by an administrator or your domain is on an Edition without that option, then this change will make https the default for Gmail for all users. Individual users will still be able to disable this in their Gmail Settings by selecting "Don't always use https".
